1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Maat Scan (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Maat Scan is an AI-powered image analysis service that estimates the naturalness, editing level, and authenticity of uploaded images. The Service does not make definitive factual determinations. Results are provided as reference information only and may not be accurate in all cases.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are between 13 and 18, you must have the consent of a parent or legal guardian. By using the Service, you represent that you meet these requirements.

4. Account Registration

Some features require sign-in via Google or Apple. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and for all activities that occur under your account. Please notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized use.

5. Prohibited Uses

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Upload images that infringe third-party intellectual property rights
• Upload images containing child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or any illegal content
• Attempt unauthorized access to or interference with the Service
• Use automated tools, bots, or scripts to access the Service in a manner that disrupts normal operation
• Misrepresent the results of the Service or use them to defame, harass, or harm others
• Engage in any activity that violates applicable law or regulation

6. Uploaded Images

You retain all ownership rights to images you upload. By uploading an image, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to process the image solely for the purpose of providing the analysis result to you.

You represent that you have the right to upload and process the image, and that doing so does not violate any third-party rights or applicable law. You are solely responsible for the content of images you upload.

8. Scan Quotas and Bonus Scans

Each plan includes a monthly scan quota. Unused monthly scans do not carry over to the following month. Quota resets on the monthly billing anniversary date. Credit Pack scans do not expire and are consumed after plan scans are exhausted.

Users may earn bonus scans by watching advertisements. Bonus scans are granted at our discretion and are subject to the following conditions: (a) a maximum of 2 ads may be watched per day; (b) each ad view grants 3 bonus scans; (c) unused bonus scans expire at midnight UTC and do not carry over to the following day. Bonus scans are consumed before monthly plan scans.

We reserve the right to modify or discontinue the bonus scan program at any time without notice.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR ACCURATE IN ALL CASES.

Analysis results are estimates based on AI models and should not be relied upon as definitive proof of image authenticity or manipulation.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO US IN THE THREE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Hoot Hall LLC and its officers, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your uploaded content, or your violation of these Terms.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time if we believe you have violated these Terms or if required by law. You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.

13. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. For material changes, we will provide notice through the Service. Continued use of the Service after the effective date of any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation or, if necessary, binding arbitration or a court of competent jurisdiction.

We respect intellectual property rights. If you believe that content on Maat Scan infringes your copyright, please send a written takedown notice to our designated DMCA agent:

Repeat infringers will have their accounts terminated in accordance with 17 U.S.C. § 512.
